Delp Ranch Roping....The annual roping clinic and the first roping of the season were a success in spite of the weather that tried to shut us down!  Ed Disney, who was going to host the clinic as well as the first roping of the season, was inundated with so much snow the week before that he finally ran out of places to put it all, and it was just impossible to hold the clinic there.  Dean Delp did some fast manuvering to get his arena ready, and the folks that came to the clinic were well pleased with the hands-on experience they had, with Scott Grosskopf leading, with Dean, Dick Grosskopf and Marty He Does It lending a hand.  Staci and Scott Grosskopf and Buckaroo Businesses provided an outstanding hot lunch both days...it was worth the entry fees just for her stew!  Those of you that didn't make it missed something great!

We had a total of 27 teams for the first roping of the season...with 15 Novice and 12 Open teams!  The first time EVER that the Novcie outnumbered the Open Division!  We have a Draw Pot now for the Novice also, which adds to the fun for them!  

1st place Open....Scott Grosskopf, Dean Delp, and Caleb French with 89 points.

2nd Place Open...Arne Esp, Marty He Does It, and Dwight Hill with 74 points.

3rd Place Open...Dwight Hill, Dick Grosskopf, and Marty He Does It with 73 points.

1st Place Novice... Staci Grosskopf, Crystal Lenhart, and Marty He Does It with 71 points

2nd Place Novice...Mike Sikveland, Staci Grosskopf and Scott Grosskopf with 56 points.  Mike attended our clinic, and this was his first roping!  Congratulations Mike!

3rd Place Novice...Crystal Lenhart, Hannah Johlman, and Caleb French with 42 pts.  Hannah is a darling 17 year old...her first clinic and her first roping on a borrowed horse, and she didn't begin riding till about a year ago!  Way to go Hannah!!!
